This course provides a study of the conceptual foundations of financial accounting measurement and reporting to assist the student in interpreting finance oriented data. Emphasis will be on the use of external and internal financial information used to assist management in the human resources management area and will include: basic concepts on preparing general journal entries, posting ledger (t) accounts, preparation of trial balances, adjusting entries and preparing basic financial statements such as income statements, balance sheets, cost behaviour and cost volume profit analysis, costs in decision making, budgets and budgetary control for the internal reporting areas.
