This Level 6 Spanish course is designed for advanced speakers and learners. Spanish 6 consists of the following elements of the language:
• Speaking: Speak the language with sufficient accuracy to participate effectively in most formal and informal conversations on practical, social, professional, and abstract topics.
• Listening: Understand the main ideas of all speech in a standard dialect.
• Reading: Read with almost complete comprehension and at a normal speed expository prose on unfamiliar subjects and a variety of literary text .
• Writing: Express effectively in most formal and informal writing on practical, social and professional topics.
During the course, the student will gain the language and language-learning skills necessary to achieve an advanced-high level of proficiency, according to the ACTFL (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages) Guidelines.
Prerequisite(s): LAN. 126 Spanish 5: Advanced or SPAN 105 Spanish 5: Advanced

Note: This course does not qualify as a General Education credit.
Note: This course can be applied toward the Spanish Language Certificate program 09411.
