This course will outline the history of restorative and community justice processes that stem from aboriginal paradigms and more recent applications that have developed into models including: family and group conferencing, healing circles, sentencing circles, restorative justice circles, conference committees, transformative community justice. The underlying philosophy of community, healing, forgiveness and accountability central to all these forms will be a central focus of this course.
Note: This course may be taken concurrently with other program courses.
